Friend Steven caught this 3.2kg sea barramundi with dead herring as bait on a water breaker when tide is almost full.

Went for a short holiday and do some beach fishing. Caught this golden promfet and few three dots baby promfet with prawn meat as bait.

Date : 12-04-2025. Time: 20.10-2311 hrs

Caught two Golden Snapper on a up coming tide. One was tide midway up and the other when tide full. Both fishes took my defrost squid on a two hooks short snood bottom feeder rig.

Tide is about to full. Current flow had slow down. I saw my line had some slack. Decide to check it out. Wind back this small flat head. Its not a easy night out. Bait is not lasting. So lots of hard work on changing bait often. Luckly i manage to get enough of fresh herring in the early evening for the whole trip.

Caught this Marine Cat fish when the tide was mid way up. Current flow was fast and the fish flow along the current after taking the bait. I saw my rod tip rattle and line gone slack. Gave a hard strike and it struggle along the way in. Surface it up and a fellow angler help to grab my leader and haul it up. Estimate about 3kg in weight.

Caught this marine cat fish when the tide is on the way up. Bait is fresh tamban on a long snood bottom feeder rig.

Caught this palm size red snapper when the down tide is about to end. This snapper took my fresh herring bait slowly by nimble it at the beginning which cause my rod tip to shake lightly. I didn’t bother it at first assume as flower crab eating it. Only when it shake faster then I go and strike the rod.

Tide is on the way up. Very strong wind with fast current flow. Manage to jig few fresh herring as bait before sunset. Bait was lasting at this time. 2035 hrs, saw my rod bend and line going out. Strike hard and can feel strong jerking at the line end. Slowly wind back and this golden cat fish surface up. Ask friend to grab my rig line and haul it up as water is high. Weight 3kg plus.

Went for a short day trip as full tide finish at 2030 hrs tonight. As still day bright, i use the slide down live bait rig and bottom feeder rig on a single rod. The wolf herring took the live bait rig while i was jigging for herring. I use my rod to haul it up.

Go on a day trip as night time the high tide is very late. First caught a Gar fish when the tide is on the way up. The queen fish was caught when the tide n current flow turn down. Both fishes took live herring on a slide down rig.
