Tide was almost coming to the high…This fish took my bait and cause a screech on my reel alarm. I was nearby and I strike immediately…Yes fish on but not big….I gain control and slowly wind back…It struggle along the way and feel like a marine catfish…But….luckily it surface up is a grouper….I quickly ask my friend Ah Fei…who was helping me to catch squid use the net to scoop it up. It weigh 1.3kg on the scale.

Ah Zai lost this monster after 20 plus minute of hard fight battle. The hook line get cut while tug of war with the fish.

His 23th Barramundi

Ah Hong landed his 23th Baramundi on the jetty last nite. The fish took his live prawn on the late evening. Tide was just turning up and current was smooth. It then move away from the jetty and make a round back trying to go under. Hong use his rod to steer the fish out…Upon doing that…he broke his 20yrs rod….but eventually he manage to surface the fish with the line intact while I gaff it up. It weigh 5.9kg on the scale.

Tide was on the way up. Current just started to move, He went to see his line after sliding down a cable car rig. Suddenly he saw his line went slack. He pickup the rod and strike,,,,Heavy at the end….arrrr rubbish,,,But before his rig surface…he feel a tight jerk….Ya….a fish….when surface…wow !….grouper….

Yes…ah boi caught his last fish for year 2013 with a record….It could be the biggest grouper caught on surfcast out from the jetty. It weight 3.1kg…This mama size broke the last known biggest caught 2.5kg grouper many years back. Here we are talking about surfcast by rod out and away from the jetty and not grouper caught near or below the jetty.

Caught this nice fingermark snapper last nite. It took the bait and the line when slack. I caught another marine catfish later with a cocktail bait of tamban n cut squid.
