Two in a night

Ah An caught his 1.6kg Barracuda around 10pm 30-06-2012 when the tide was midway down. The fish took his fresh squid bait on his Penn PPT sidewinder rod 13.6ft pair with a Shimano Torium 30 reel. I used my hand to grab hold of his line leader and haul it up the jetty.

Ah Hong caught his 3.1kg queenfish at around 1.30am 01-07-2012 when the downtide was about to end. The fish took his tamban bait on his Century vectra rod pair with a Shimano Trinidad DC 30 reel almost immediately after he casted down. For this fish, I use my gaff to bring it up.

Hungry Night Queenie

Date: 26-05-2012    Time: 10.50pm      Rod: Zzipplex M427 Hi-Flex 13ft.      Reel: Daiwa Saltiga 50      Line: 50lbs mono      Rig: Long snood bottom feeder      Bait: Fresh night herring(Tuabak)

Queenfish very seldom feed at night….Ah ONG is the lucky one…..Tide was on the way up and the current was flowing very smooth…Bait was not very lasting but ONG keep on changing to make sure it has bait in the water all the time.

Hard work paid off….Around 10.50pm….POW….another angler there saw Ah ONG rod tip rattle…..Immediately he strike…..Yes…it ON. He then pass the rod back to ONG…..By looking at the rod bend….we know this fish has size….We were guessing it could be another Threadfin…..I standby my squid net. But when the fish surface….It turn out to be a Queenfish…..I quickly ask ONG to hold on the fish and I grab my gaff.

The fish was brought up easily….It hit the scale at 4kg.
