Go for another night short trip. Tide is on the way up. First cast caught a palm size brown stingray released. Then come this 3.5kg queen fish. It hit the bait and cause my rod to bend and reel scream. I take it slowly to tackle it as i am using light surf gear. It took about ten minutes to bring it close to the shore as it fought hard with many acrobatic jump. Two flower crab was tangle but drop off when surface up. Then come a baby cow tail ray and releasd. The last was a small eel tail cat fish. Total i only bring 11pcs of defrost squid as bait.
Went to the beach for a short trip. Tide was about to full when i hit this 1.2kg grouper. It took my defrost squid bait on a long snood bottom feeder rig. Easily landed it as it didn’t struggle much on my light surf tackle.
Went solo on this trip and it turn out very thrilling. First fish caught was a small grey shark taking the bait when tide is still going down. Released after photo taking.
Second fish is a golden snapper. It took my bait just after i cast out. I can feel the pull when it bite. At that moment, i still holding the rod with one hand. I immediately strike it but feel nothing. So i place the rod down on the rod stand. It pull again and rod bend and the rod stand gave way. Rod almost goes into the sea if i was not near it. I grab it n strike but still feel nothing. I again put the rod back on the rod stand after re position it. This time it pull again the third time..i strike hard with both hand and fish on. Turn out to be a golden snapper.
I re bait the rod and cast down again then i bring the fish to take photo. But when i turn around to look at the rod just about a minute after, one of the rod was missing. I ran over to look and the rod and the stand had gave way and fell down at the stone breaker. Very lucky the fish is not big. If not the rod had gone. I wind it in an the second golden snapper up.
The third golden snapper was caught by another rod.
And finishing off is a small brown ray which i released after taking photo.
Went on a beach trip as jetty the bait cast out is not lasting. Play on light surf tackle set. Tide was on the way up and current was slow. I use two hooks short snood bottom feeder rig. First caught a small grey shark. Released after taking photo. Later caught a baby grouper and it swallow the hook. Can’t release so keep for my lunch.
I caught a palm size golden snapper with defrost squid at jetty while my friend Jumbo Li landed his 3.5kg Mangrove Jack at beach with green eye strip as bait.
Caught two Golden Snapper on a up coming tide. One was tide midway up and the other when tide full. Both fishes took my defrost squid on a two hooks short snood bottom feeder rig.
