Drive up to desaru for a short weekend break. I bring along my beach tackles set also. Due to the early morning high tide…by the time I reach there the tide already going down. So I decided to fish on the night high tide. As the night high tide is at 10.18pm…I only start at 7pm after my early dinner…
There is another angler fishing there also….I join him and after some chat…it turn out he is working as the life guard on the resort that I stay. I learn from him that the place got many type of fishes….he ever caught stingray, shark, chermin, snapper plus others type all on high tide. He use spinning set with prawn meat as bait.
But half way through, he got a call from his wife asking him to go home for some celebration. So ended up I myself fishing on that dark lonely beach. As it is very dark, its very hard to spot any bite as I didnt bring any luminous light. I only depend on my bright torch light to shine on my rod tip once in awhile.
Around 8pm, I see my line a bit loose…so i decide to check…I took my rod and strike…. and I feel some pull back….that I realise I had a hookup…It struggle while I wind back my line….It turn out is a small blacktip shark around 500g…I quickly take the photos and release it back to the sea.
