Date: 01-05-2019 Time: 12.00pm Rod: Penn Power stick 10ft. Reel: Daiwa Saltist 40 Rig: Long snood bottom feeder Bait: Fresh dead Tamban
Reach there around 9 plus am. Tide already full and current start turning. As it is a public holiday, jetty is full of peoples and rods. Manage to get a place and set up two rods.
I decided to fish only the surface live bait cable car method and skip the bottom rig as to avoid changing bait and line tangle.
For three hours, no action at all…not even others anglers rod. Only a man got a big baramundi around 4kg on a handline.
Then come 12pm, I decide to change one rod to bottom feeder as by now more space around and many anglers had gone back.
First cast down and only eight minute later…my rod tip start to rattle. I keep my eye on it and only when the fish pull hard cause the reel alarm to screech that i strike the rod.
Easily wind in and can see a threadfin on the end of the line. I saw it was deeply hook so decide to use my rod to lift it up. Estimate near to two kg in weight.
A short video on my rod tip rattle before i pick it up to strike.
Welcome. Thanks.
