Date: 25 December 2019 Time: 1930 hrs Rod: Penn Power stick 10ft. Reel: Daiwa Saltist 40 Rig: Long Snood Bottom Feeder Bait: Frozen Tamban
This morning went for a short day trip. Current was very strong. My cable car rig strike four times all end up missed hook. Thanks to the clever Gar fish or Todak. Eat without paying. End up no Christmas present for me.
This evening I go again. Both rods all on bottom bait. Tide already moving up but current was slow. Bait cast out was very lasting. I know I got great chances of hitting one.
Yes, night had fallen. Sky already turn dark. I was just beside my rod. Suddenly I saw my rod tip bend downward. I didn’t wait for the alarm to sound. Just strike it…YES…fish on…I can feel the size is big…. It make a acrobatic jump on the water surface. I thought barracuda. But when I shone my head light….Haha…wide body….barramundi..or Kim bak Lor….
I surface it and wait for it to slow down. A fellow angler come over to help hold the rod. I grab my pre set up gaff and gaff it up. Ya…5kg….What a nice Christmas present for year 2019.
